Scrapbooking is fun & easy! If you have always wanted to preserve your photos in a special way, but don’t know where to begin, then this class is for you! Learn how to crop & embellish your photos with ease. This class is open to beginners as well as experienced scrapbookers. Basic materials are included in the fee. - samples at the park office.  Quality albums are available from instructor for an additional fee. Instructor will be Renee Piraino.

 This class will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd and run until October 24th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Palmer Elementary School for adults. The cost is $72.00 which includes your starting supplies. (Min # 5, Max # 16)

*NEW* Simple Sensational Stamping     Cancelled

Learn the craft of rubber stamping! This class will teach stamping basics while creating hand stamped cards & gifts. Classes will build on techniques (cutting, scoring, resist, embellishing, layering, folding, stickles, chalks, altering, aging, pops, etc.) learned weekly ending with an amazing altered tin. Don’t ‘resist’ - create unique all-occasion cards, holiday cards, and gifts! All supplies included—there will be a sample at the park office. ‘Chalk’ it up to 6 weeks of fun!! Instructors will be Marta Jetty, Peggy Nels & Barb Presley!

 This class will be held on Tuesdays, October 16th and run until November 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Baker High School for adults. The cost is $55.00 which includes your starting supplies. (Min # 4, Max # 10)

*NEW* Spanish Lessons for Little One's- 2 Openings - Session I 

Your child will enjoy learning Spanish in a hands-on way with art, crafts, music, and more in this 10 week program! Topics taught include greetings/farewells, numbers and colors, family, animals, weather, holidays, etc. Math, science, and art concepts will be incorporated into the lessons. Instructor is Linda Horan

This class will be held on Tuesdays, September 25th and run until December 4th. Session 1 is from 1:00 to 1:40 pm at Lysander Town Hall Session 2 is from 6:00 to 6:40 pm at Durgee Jr High School for 3 - 6 year olds. The cost is $110.00 (Min # 3, Max # 6)

This 8 week program is an excellent way to learn some of the right moves and holds that once made Baldwinsville a power house in the sport. This is a  contact program, held in a safe a fun learning environment. Please note that this is also a Co-ed program and girls may have to wrestle boys. Tony Burkinshaw will be returning as coach again this year. The program was very successful and filled up fast so register early  (Min # 15, Max # 25)

Beginner Horseback Riding Lessons 

Learn basic horsemanship and care of a horse. This is a good start up program. You should only sign up for one session. This program is for ages 7 year olds & up. 

The classes will run on Monday nights from 7:30 - 8:30 pm. The cost is $70.00 per person.

Lessons are held at Smoke Tree Farms, 8911 Plainville Road, B'ville.

Beginner Karate  -

TAE-KWON-DO (Korean Karate) is an introduction to martial arts. It enables a student to learn from the ground up as it builds confidence & self esteem. The class is for beginning students thru Yellow Belt. 

Classes are held on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Palmer Elementary.  Open to all ages from 6 on up. The cost is $45.00.

Advanced Karate Classes 

This program is also TAE-KWON-Do and is for the more advanced student. Students in this class should have a YELLOW BELT with a GREEN TIP or higher. 

Classes will be held on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Palmer Elementary School. The cost is $45.00.

Red Cross Babysitting Class

This course will include: planning for a babysitting job, knowing what to expect of children, selecting toys and games, supervising children, preventing accidents, giving 1st aid, rescue breathing, caring for infants and children and feeding them. Students who complete the course will receive a resource book full of pertinent information, as well as a certificate of completion. Students should bring a snack and a lunch with them. You MUST be 11 years old BEFORE the program starts. There are 2 sessions to choose from:

The classes are held on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Baldwinsville Public Library.
The cost for each session is $70.00 per student. The class size is limited to 12. Enroll early to avoid disappointment.

Beginner Guitar Lessons - FULL

Get your guitar out of the closet, blow off the dust and join us for guitar lessons. This class, of group lessons, will cover the basic chording and a variety of strums. We will also learn some solo pieces. Participants MUST bring their own guitar, as this will be a "hands on" hour of strummin'.... This program is for students 8 years old and up. Adults are welcomed. Class size is limited to 12.

Classes are held on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at the Van Buren School in the Music Room. 

Class dates are September 24 to November 26, 2007       

The cost for this 10 week program is $40.00.

Advanced Guitar Lessons - Cancelled

This class is a combination from the beginner to the more advanced techniques. Pre-requisite is beginner guitar or approval from the Instructor. Learn note reading & melody playing. Also will learn finger-picking and advanced strums.

Classes are held on Monday nights from 8:00 to 9:00 pm at the Van Buren School in the Music Room.

Culinary Club for Tween's

Calling all Junior Chef’s interested in learning how to plan, prepare, & cook home made meals. Each class you will learn how to make something different IE bread, soup, meals & desserts. All 4 classes are together for the one fee with a different lesson each time - supplies  included The advanced class is open to those who have taken the beginner class already.

This 6 week class allows pre-school children to express their creative side through purposeful activities such as: crafts, music, movement, games and other theme related activities.  We will be moving with a purpose to help develop age appropriate skills and enjoying social interaction while we play.  Each child must be accompanied by an adult.  Instructor for this class will be Lynn Pinard

Adult Basketball > You MUST be 21 years old to attend this program

Game Procedure 

This is a recreational program with teams formed from those present. This program is open to Adult residents from the Town of Lysander and the Town of Van Buren ONLY. No pre-registration is required. You must fill out a registration form the 1st time you attend along with proof of residency (current license).

This program is held on Monday & Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at Durgee Jr. High School. The cost is $1.00 each time you attend. The program has starts on October 15th and will continue until March 17, 2007. Omit the following dates: 11/12, 11/22, 12/13, 12/24, 12/27, 12/31, 1/3, 2/18 & 2/21.

Walking Program

Do you enjoy walking but hate walking in the dark? Then come inside for a brisk walk at Durgee Jr. High. This is a safe way to keep up your walking during the fall and winter months. Open to all ages, however if you are under 16 years old you will need an adult with you.

The program is held on Monday & Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Durgee Jr. High. There is no cost to this program. The program has starts October 12th and ends March 19, 2007. Omit the following dates: 11/23, 12/25, 12/28, 1/1, 1/15, 2/19 & 2/22.

Hatha Yoga- 20 Openings

The practice of Hatha Yoga develops strength, balance & flexibility. Physical movements combine with breathing and concentration to enhance vitality and improve mental clarity. Taught by staff of Morningside Yoga.

This program will be held on Tuesday nights starting on October 2 and running until December 4th from 6:30 to 7:30 at Ray Middle School. The Cost is $100.00 for adults and $55.00 for children 9 & up. (Min # 5, Max # 25)

TAI CHI - 3 Registered

TAI CHI is a Chinese martial art that is primarily practiced for its health benefits, including a means for dealing with tension and stress. Tai Chi is considered a "soft" style, though regular practice provides for an excellent low cardio, toning workout. Soft, slow, flowing and gentle movements built on the development of balance, coordination and strong energy flow. This is an excellent couples activity.

Classes will be held on Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at a location Palmer Elementary School. This class is open to students 15 years and up. The cost is $45.00.

Get your child started in dance to improve their coordination, balance, and have a good time! These lessons offer a variety of dances including tap, ballet, Irish dancing, and jazz. This 20-week program will include a leotard, tights, and a skirt (for K - 1st) and shorts (for 3 - 5), and will conclude with a demonstration for parents on the last day of class.  Instructor will be Jean Stelter.

Enjoy dancing or just want to become a big hit on the dance floor? This course is for all age groups. Learn the skills of social dancing, gain confidence & poise. Featured are the most popular dances: Fox Trot,  Cha-Cha, Swing, Waltz & the Rhumba. The Instructor will be from Walt Medicis Dance Studio.

*NEW* Kindermusik

KIndermusik is a classroom learning experience that teaches children music so they can become better learners.  It isn’t about making little Mozart's, but rather about developing skills.  This fall we will offer classes for ages 4 months up to 6 years.  Each session has a theme and is filled with fun activities that teach many essentials. Instructor for all classes will be Maggie Mercer - check out her website at http://www.kindermaggie.kindermusik.net - registration numbers may not be accurate because of multiple registration sites.  All classes will be held at the LYSANDER TOWN HALL, 8220 Loop Rd. Note: At home materials are included for each class - items are different for each theme session.  List of items are available on line or at the park office.  Register early - classes fill quickly!

FEATHERS: Musical poems of Woody Guthrie, bird songs, and nature sounds help babies develop an early appreciation for language, movement, and music in this program.

DO-SI-DO: Pick up your baby and dance! Do the tango, cha cha & more. Play over 25 unique instruments and participate in creative music and movement activities with your baby, while developing vital learning skills.

Golf Lessons - Completed

This golf clinic will run for 8 weeks & will be for all levels of golfers. It is an economical means to learn full swing mechanics as well as finesse shots. Hickory Hill instructors are trained to help you increase your enjoyment of the game and are anxious to see you hone your skills.

Mini Basketball Camp

This camp is structured for a 1 1/2 hour program designed to teach basketball skills by rotating kids through learning stations including shooting, passing, dribbling/pivot, and defense and then applying those skills by playing actual games. Instructor for the camp will be Gary Pluff.

Paper Crafting Fun !  Cancelled

Join us after school for some creative craft time. You will be amazed at what you can create with card stock, ink & a few rubber stamps. We will make hand crafted greeting cards, as well as mini gift bags and other fun surprises. Fee includes supplies for the classes.

Retirement Planning Today - 22 registered

This class explains time tested strategies that will help you make informed financial decisions.  You’ll discover how to save money on taxes, manage investment risks and protect your assets from potential long term health care expenses.  Above all, this course will show you how to assess your financial situation and develop a personalized plan to achieve your retirement goals. Each person may bring a guest at no extra charge.
