The Comptroller’s office is responsible for
the following:

Audit of payments to vendors to insure accuracy,
compliance with procurement policy and to insure amounts are
within budgetary limits;

Processing of payroll for all Town employees and
related payroll taxes, including required tax filing reporting;

Administer employee benefit plans and
personnel matters;
-
Processing the monthly financial reports that
present the financial condition of the Town;
-
Maintain all accounting records, including fixed
assets;
-
Prepare and submit the Annual Financial Report
Document (AUD) to the New York State Comptroller’s office;

Cash management, investing the Towns funds to
achieve the maximum rate of return at the same time insuring the
safety of principal;
-
Insurance and risk management, including the
Town’s safety program;
-
The Comptroller acts as the Budget Officer,
co-coordinating with department heads and Town Board members
prepares the Annual Budget, presents the budget to the public at a
Budget Hearing;
-
Audit of departments that have the duties of
collecting receipts
