This is achieved each year through annual reassessment as prescribed by the NYS Office of Real Property Services. The Assessor is available by appointment throughout the year to discuss assessments.
Some of the many functions of the Assessor’s Office are:
  • Value property
  • Process exemptions
  • Verify sales data
  • Collect data on new construction
All exemption forms must be filed by March 1.
Key dates that affect the assessment process:
March 1 Taxable Status Date
March 1 Filing Deadline: All real property tax exemptions.
May 1 Tentative Roll Filed
July 1 Final Roll Filed
Grievance Day: First Tuesday in June

Six copies of RP-524 (located in the Assessor's office or online at www.orps.state.ny.us) must be submitted to receive an appointment for Grievance Day.
