TOWN
SUPERVISOR
The
supervisor is the chief fiscal officer (prepares & oversees
budget),
responsible
for personnel management, and presides at Town Board meetings.
ASSESSOR
This
department maintains assessment records as well as data collection
and valuation of new constructions, acceptance and processing of exemptions, review of sold properties and the valuation of
properties each year through the annual reassessment program.
The Board of Assessment Review oversees any grievances.
COMPTROLLER
Is
responsible for accounts payable, payroll and personnel records,
budget management and financial reports and investments
HIGHWAY
DEPARTMENT
The
town maintains approximately 93 miles of town roads including
plowing, sanding, sweeping and resurfacing (as well as plowing of 30 miles of
county roads); they also maintain drainage, and care for abandoned
cemeteries. Hours are
6:00a.m. - 3:00 p.m., plus any snow removal times.
JUSTICE
COURT
The
court is presided over by two town justices.
Office hours are 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Court Hours are Tuesdays - 7:00 p.m. for Judge Rutherford,
and Wednesdays - 7:30 p.m. for Judge Mullin.
PLANNING
AND ZONING
Provides
information with regard to planning, zoning and codes enforcement.
Planning Board deals with subdivisions, site plans and
controlled site uses; the Zoning Board deals with specific use
permits, variances and land uses; Zoning office handles building
permits, zoning applications, code enforcement issues and fire
safety inspection scheduling.
PARKS
& RECREATION DEPARTMENT
This
department plans for a variety of recreation programs throughout
the year. They also
oversee the maintenance and upkeep of
Lysander Park and the Town
Hall.
The Park is officially open 9:00 am - Dusk until the end of
October.
TAX
RECEIVER
Responsible
for mailing out and collecting Town & County, and school tax
bills for all property in the Town of Lysander.
Provides Tax Rates and payment information. Also collects Town of Lysander water payments.

TOWN
CLERK
This
department issues licenses: passports, marriage, dog, hunting & fishing,
handicapped parking, bingo, games of chance, trash haulers, etc. Makes arrangements for election district
polling places, inspectors and voting machine custodians.
Maintains and provides access to all town records and town
board agendas & minutes.
Office also is responsible for the administration of Chase Cemetery
and burials and well as dispensing general information regarding the
town.
