The commission is a seven-member board made up of Lysander residents who act in an advisory capacity to the Parks & Recreation Department. Each member is appointed to a seven-year term with one member's term expiring each year. A typical agenda covers program status and development, community events, departmental updates and budget issues. The Commission also reviews contracts, staffing, town-wide planning issues, grants and policy.
There are five "planned" meetings per year held on the first Monday of January, March, May, November; and the second Monday in September. The meetings are held at the Lysander Town Hall.
